1. God’s Purpose: Peace and Life
God loves you and wants you to experience peace and life---abundant and eternal life. The Bible says that Jesus came to bring “abundant life.”
What do these verses say about God purpose and original intention for us?
• Genesis 1:26-28
• John 10:10
• Romans 5:1
• John 3:16
Why don’t most people have this peace and abundant life that God planned for us to have?
2. The Problem: Separation from God
God created us in his own image to have an abundant life. He did not make us as robots to automatically love and obey Him. God gave us a will and freedom of choice. We chose to disobey God and go our own willful way. We still make this choice today. This results in separation from God.
What does the Bible say about sin?
• Romans 3:21-25
• Romans 6:23
Have you ever sinned?
People tend to think there are many ways to heaven, but there is only one way and that is thru Jesus Christ. All other ways lead to death.
• Proverbs 14:12
• Isaiah 59:2
3. God’s Solution (Bridge): The Cross of Christ
Jesus Christ died on the cross and rose from the grave. He paid the penalty for our sin and bridged the gap between God and people.
• 1 Timothy 2:5-6
• 1 Peter 3:18
• Romans 5:8
God has provided only one way and each person must make a choice.
Describe in your own words what God has done for us thru Jesus Christ.
4. Our response: Receive Jesus Christ.
We must trust Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and receive Him by personal invitation.
Describe in your own words what we must do to receive God’s gift of salvation.
• Romans 10:9-10
• Revelation 3:20
• John 1:12
What is necessary for you to be saved? Will living a good life get you saved? Will helping others get you saved? Will feeding the hungry get you saved?
